Visited while in the area with Da Boss 1-12-24 for lunch and a taste or two. Definitely a destination.
Vibe was nice as the barrels for their membership society are displayed prominently in the taproom adorned with festive lighting. A local artist has rendered various portraits of the owners and musicians that presumably play there. There is a stand-up service bar, and 4-5 locals had one corner taken. There is seating for around 50 or so. - 4.0
Quality of the beer was okay, i had a Baltic Porter which i think turned a bit and BA Pastry Stout that was good but way too sweet for me. Da Boss had the Mexican Lager which was a bit toasty for her palate. - 3.5
Service was okay as the barkeep was not overly friendly and not forward with asking questions to gauge styles we might be interested in. - 3.5
Selection was okay as there were about 10 drafts available. - 3.5
Food was sub par as the truffles fries were greasy and limp and the burgers were just okay. - 2.75
Overall given the Spartanburg area is a bit of a beer desert compared to Greenville, probably one of the better options if you are a local. Overall 3.48.

Great place all around. Definitely a destination in Boiling Springs.
Vibe: Funky art on the walls. Barrels line the walls. TVs around the building for sports fans. This place does an excellent job managing a diverse crowd.
Quality: Haven't drank a bad beer from here. Continuously pushing trends with flavors and combinations that you wouldn't normally expect.
Service: Bartenders learn your names and remember what you prefer to drink. The brewers/owners are very personable and knowledgeable. You can tell that every staff member shares a true passion for craft beer.
Selection: Normally a diverse roster of style represented. Sometimes the 5 BBL batches go quick and you miss out, they do a good job of having something on deck.
Food: Yuge Pretzel is an absolute must while drinking. If you go on Sunday, they have a killer brunch menu.

New Grove recently turned two and like most toddlers shows promise but has a lot of experience ahead of it. Their basic beers are average to above, but they seem to be experimenting with specially beers that are truly experiments. For example, they have a pretzel beer co-developed with Plankholder which after tasting makes one wonder, "Is this what they were going for? And if so, why?" The people were great and the food alone worth a visit. I hope to visit in the future and see how they develop.

Great place all around. Definitely a destination in Boiling Springs. They usually have a dozen+ beers on draft ranging from lagers to IPAS to sours. I'm a big fan of the IPAS.
Food is some barbeque style like chopped pork, brisket, pork belly. They also have burgers, hotdogs, and wings. I like the wings and the brisket.
Service is good, the staff is friendly, the owners clearly take pride in their business.

I stumbled across New Groove while in Boiling Springs for the day, it is tucked in behind a gas station off of the main drag.
The tap room is smallish with a long bar and about 5 tables, there is also a small area with a couple of couches and a table. The place is sparsely decorated, and has a small handful of televisions, which at the time were tuned into sports stations. The tap room is seperated from the actual brewing area by only a half wall, allowing everyone to see the beer being made if there during brewing operations.
The food menu is rather small, and consists mainly of lunch meat sandwiches and "yuge" pretzels. The pretzels come with your choice of beer cheese and a spicy mustard. we ordered a sandwich and a pretzel to split. The food was decent, but nothing to write home about.
The beer menu featured 10-15 house made beers and 2-3 guest taps. We ordered a flight of 6 beers including a black IPA, wheat IPA, an IPA w/lactose, pale ale, a "pumpkin spice latte" brown ale, and a "tomato/jalapeno" beer. I was quite impressed with 4 of these 6 beers. I also tried the coffee brown ale and was quite impressed. The beers were well made and enjoyable
Even though the place was not very busy, the service was quite slow unless you were sitting at the bar.
Overall, for a place that had only been open for a few months it was very enjoyable, and the beer was spot on...

This is the best brewery In Spartanburg County. I live in downtown Spartanburg and there are 4 other breweries closer to my house (2 of which I can walk to), but this is the only brewery I go to. They always have a broad selection of brews across a wide range of styles including some barrel, wine puncheon, and foeder aged beers that pop up from time to time. Pretty much anyone from the typical BMC drinker to the most sophisticated should be able to find something enjoyable. Even for the regulars, there is often something new to try. They also have killer food - smoked meats including wings, triple B burger, pulled pork and brisket sandwiches, as well as pork belly and brisket tacos. Plus snacks, truffle fries, hot dogs, and have even started to add some vegetarian options like a portobello burger. If you happen to be a fan of boiled peanuts like myself, I dare you to try to find any better than theirs. The servers are knowledgeable and friendly. Check them out if you’re in the area.
