Altstadt is one of a half-dozen or so German-style beer halls in the Seattle area. It's relatively new, and the inside is spiffy and welcoming with big communal tables. There are a dozen beers on tap, focused on German beers, and two dozen or so beers in bottles, again focused on German and other continental beers. Of course, beers are available in liters (the only civilized pour!).
Service was good and the food was really quite tasty. It's kind of upscale pub food with a German influence; definitely a good place for a hangout or happy hour.
