Poured into a Celebrator pokal. Pours a medium coppery amber with a quarter finger white head that dissipates to sparse patches with light lacing. Aroma of bready malt, Aroma of bready and lightly grainy malt, mild caramel, grassy hops. Flavor is lightly husky, grainy biscuit malt, mild toffee and grassy hops. Grain and grassy hops in the finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. My second Octoberfest of the season and this one is more like the traditional old fashioned marzen with a dark color and continental malt and hops. A little more biscuity and hoppier than than a German marzen, but tasted is right for the season and is appropriately drinkable for an fest beer. Nothing stands out, but a solid, satisfying domestic Marzen.
