Poured from 12oz can into a dimpled mug.
Appearance: dark brown hue with a bit of haze and some tawny highlights when held up to the light. Head is a thin finger of frothy light-tan foam. Seems quite legit!
Smell: sweet, malty, and bready, with a bit of nuttiness to it and perhaps even a little bit of chocolate character. Very interesting; I like it.
Taste: bready and caramelly but not too sweet; I appreciate that there's not much biscuit character in this beer. It's not necessarily super complex, but it's satisfying in its way; very winter-warmer like, though without too much bitterness.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess. Frankly for a beer this size and style I was expecting a bit more creamy smoothness, but overall not too bad.
Overall: I like this beer. A nice sippin' warmer on this ridiculously cold Seattle evening.
