Jellyfish Brewing

on tap at the excellent mexican joint not far from the brewery, this is just my second from jellyfish so i was pumped for it. its fine beer, but its not amazing, good hop profile and all, but its one of those really dense and sort of messy feeling hazy types, all orange juice looking and without much head, filling too, but that could also be a product of all the bomb food we crushed while i drank on this. lets start with the good, the hops burst with clean citrus, pineapple, and sweet melon, they smell and taste fresh and without greenness or bitterness, new england indeed. the ferment is also appropriately minimal, too many of these employ yeast that contributes too much flavor, i have never dug that, so appreciate the absence of that here. the beer is super starchy and thick though, it sags in carbonation, and its sweeter than it needs to be through the finish. its a little bit generic too, even though the hops are good, and it just seems overly grainy, extra hazy just for the sake of it, i think it tastes good but the refinement is weak. hope to get into the brewery next time i am in town and get to drink a bit more of their stuff, this shows some promise but is also nothing special, good with spicy mexican food though from a flavor standopint...
