Hazy yellow color with lasting suds, but no lace on the glass.
With the first whiff, I was shocked to smell sausage spices like fennel, pepper, and garlic. No banana, no wheat. Odd, but intriguingly alluring.
I might categorize this beer as a winter warmer except that it’s too light. It’s not very wheat-like, but the flavor is strong with the special West Virginian yeast they use. It tastes as if there is coriander, pepper, and citrus peel (the menu speaks of tangerines, but I didn’t pick up on that). Shorter finish. While this was off from style, I couldn’t stop drinking it.
