Tucked away in historic Long Grove IL. this place has a nice cabin in the woods feel with modern twist. Very large Beer Garden and over all nice layout. The owners found time to talk to me bout their beers. I enjoyed the stouts, and 4 of the 6 beers I sampled. Brewers like to lean on German and Belgium beers too, and that is fine with me. Will try and get back on the summer.

It took too long to finally get here, but we did it, kids. Located on a small off-shoot road right off the main path in downtown Long Grove (I guess I should add the usual "Historic" appellation?), the place looks a large farm-style structure from the outside, almost like a far-afield manor in the old country. Inside, it's a log-cabin-esque decor, everything layered in wood, with a bar on the left, seating that wraps around to the right, an upstairs area (usually for special events) and a relatively newly-expanded biergarten area out back, stretching a decent distance considering. It's very homey, very den-like, but still with plenty of light. Dog-friendly, so you're liable to be able to pet some brokers during a visit, always a plus. The selection is usually pretty solid, though the range tends to be slightly truncated in favor of either the stouts (don't get me wrong, I dig it, I'm just sayin') or hard seltzers (I'm still baffled by this societal turn, gotta say). Still, always something to interest you, and flights aid those more tick-inclined like myself. The staff is friendly, they know what they're talking about, and I've never felt ignored. Pricing is pretty good, though some of the merch looked to have some strangely high values (lookin' at you, tacker sign!). All in all, it's a damn solid brewery to have just down the street from me, and even the musical guests are entertaining. Good times.

Arrived right at opening, taproom was large. We tried 3 beers, smoked bacon stout, IIPA, and Farmhouse, all were solid beers, enjoyed stout the best, slight smoky bacon taste. nice large patio and lawn area, would like to go back for their music on weekends. Overall a nice place.

Limited, but decent selection of brews. Barrel aged porter is outstanding. No food service, but you can order in from a small number of very good local restaurants. Live entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays,
Wants to be something more and they seem to be trending in the right direction. Staff/ service is uneven. I attribute that to "growing pains". The village of Long Grove could be more supportive - by allowing food trucks to augment the food service would be a plus.
Give it a try if you are in the area.
