Back by popular demand, Dead Of Night, once referred to as our 4th core beer is the beer equivalent of Luke Hemsworth… It has the look, it has the talent, but unfortunately lives in the shadow of the Widowmaker. Like a phoenix rising from the mashes, Dead Of Night will fly off the shelves and have all the beer nerds flocking to Untappd to let everyone know “Pineapple & Citrus” before quietly settling back to where it belongs, a distant memory. Enjoy!

Remarkably similar takeaways to my drinking experience with Widowmaker, just with Galaxy instead of Mosaic characteristics, so a very similar (read: self-plagiarized) review.
Undated 473mL can poured into a low ball glass.
Opaque and hazy pineapple juice body with a finger and a half of soft, soapy, bright white head that hangs on quite well and provides great rings and streaks of creamy lacing. Juicy, attractive, and on point.
Galaxy for days in the nose, with primary notes of cantaloupe, peach, apricot, nectarine, green grape, mango and other tropical fruits, citrus, pine, and a medley of berries. Slightly grassy, quite floral, with a touch of peppery spice. Wonderfully layered but not overly bold.
Taste is heavy overripe stone fruit, cantaloupe, and citrus juice, complimented with big doses of dank grass, pineapple, wine grapes, green onion, and a lot of candied berry. Semi-sweet with grapefruit pith and a touch of starchy greenery on the back end. Peach and pineapple in the aftertaste, with a pickup of the green onion. I think I like Widowmaker a little more (I prefer Mosaic to Galaxy, in general, so no surprise there), but this is still damn good.
Feel is soft and silky yet still somehow a touch thin. Well carbonated with a slight prickle.
Quite an outstanding beer, especially for a 6.6%NE IPA in a world of 8%+ monsters. As good as MANY hazy IPAs I’ve had in the U.S. by breweries held up as major players in the category, with a drinking experience that reminds me very much of several Single Cut beers I've had in terms of the stone fruit and berry characteristics. Any time I'm back home in Vancouver and in the mood for something hoppy, this and Widowmajer will be automatic pickups. Digging what Backcountry is making!4

Can: Poured a hazy yellow color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good amount of lacing. Aroma of citrusy and tropical notes hops undertones with some residual sugar notes. Taste is also a mix of residual sugar notes with some powerful citrusy and tropical hops undertones. Body is full with good carbonation. Great NEIPA and great use of Galaxy hops.

Pure milk; passionfruit, peach + orange sorbet with a touch of nettle oil; grapefruit granata, pina colada, papaya more than peach, lemon oil end; almost lactose smoothness.

Super creamy without oats somehow, crazy fruit nose, and right on for Galaxy: no pine, no spice. Hits its marks for NEIPA. Backcountry are setting a high standard for themselves.

Poured from a 473ml can. 28 IBU, Hopped with 2018 Galaxy hops.
Another great beer from Backcountry.
A take on a single hopped East/West coast hazy IPA. Full of flavor but with less hop bitterness.
