Pretty much a perfect coffee porter. Both my wife and I have deemed this a favorite

Stopped by Backyard for the first time yesterday (29DEC18)... Had a flight of 4, including this Baltic Porter. It hit the spot, so a crowler ($12) found its way home with me. Diving in now while watching the last weekend of the NFL regular season...
Poured some into one of my trusty Smutty snifters... Could only get the glass half full due to the prodigious head produced. After a lot of ebbing, I finally got the glass filled. Beer is near jet-black, with no light shining through at all. Head is mocha colored and quite rocky and frothy; lacing is A-1. Aroma has some choco and coffee, with nice roasty action. It has a solid medium body, and is very smooth going down; wish it was a bit more chewy, though.
Flavor follows suit with roasty coffee and choco, providing some tasty, lightly sweet malts on the palate. It has subtle suggestions of dark fruit, but the choco/coffee combo is what lingers on the tastebuds. Solid and quite tasty, though not in the same class as my fave Baltic, Smuttynose.... Prosit!!

Poured from a Crowler canned a week ago. Pours a near slick black, with a 2 plus finger tan head that leaves gobs of thick lace as it slowly settles. 4
Smell roasty dry coffee, dark chocolate , vanilla, biscuit, and hazelnut. 4.25
Taste follows coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, biscuity grain, and hazelnut. 4.25
Mouthfeel is bigger than average, plenty of life, a tad dry for sure, and drinks too easy at 8.1% ABV. 4.25
Overall this is an excellent local and I am so excited to watch this very young Brewery grow.

Poured from a 32 oz crowler into a tulip glass.
Pours a near pitch black color with a healthy 2 fingers of effervescent caramel head. The head leaves lots of cobweb lacing before settling into a thick blanket of foam.
The aroma brings lots of roasted coffee and malts. There's some subtle hints of chocolate and dark fruits on the back end.
The flavor is all about the earthy, roasted coffee, followed by a touch of raisins, plums and chocolate. On the bitter side for Baltic porters.
The feel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth, with a dry and bitter finish.
Overall, a damn good Baltic Porter that's extremely roasted, yet has plenty of sweet character to balance things out. Would definitely enjoy this again.

This beer was a very dark brown color without much of a head.
Aroma of coffee, chocolate, and dark fruit. Wasn't expecting the fruit.
Taste followed the nose. Coffee, chocolate, plums.
Medium-bodied.
Very pleasant.

Very dark brown pour. Nice foam cap and lacing spots the sides of the glass. Coffee and sweet cocoa make up the aroma. Chocolate covered, coffee infused, dark fruits is the taste. Smooth, medium feel with some sweetness on the lips. As a lover of Baltic Porters, this is, quite amazing! Fantastic and memorable!

Sample at the source.
Dark brown/black in color with a creamy tan head. Rich coffee atop a restrained roasty chocolate malt beverage with hints of dark pitted fruits and earthy hops to counter. Very tasty I would have liked to sip a glass of this if I had a bit more time.
