Poured into a 12 oz snifter on draft. Pours pitch black with a 2 finger mocha head that leaves behind beautiful thin lines of lace, as it slowly settles into a thin layer of brown bubbles with exceptional retention.
Smell is dark chocolate, vanilla bean, roasty coffee grounds, pipe tobacco, toffee, and a little hint of leather.
Taste follows deep dark chocolate, coffee notes, vanilla, leather, tobacco, and some toffee round out this very tasty and complex RIS.
Mouthfeel is big and chewy the way it should be, moderate carbonation as it should be, maybe a whisker dry and that goes hand and hand with a great imperial stout, and the drinkability if you are into Big Stouts is good, but it is so tasty it makes it difficult to sip it.
Overall this is a glorious stout that really kind of blew me away from such a young brewery. Very impressive beer........

Crowler canned from the tap on site 12/29/17 and enjoyed 12/30/17.
Pours a very dark brown color with some lighter hues along the edges. Very little in the way of lacing or foam/cap head. Aromas of roasted malt, light coffee, and some molasses. Wonderful robust flavors encapsulate the palate. The baker's chocolate coats well with the coffee, caramel sweetness, and roast mixing together. Medium-full feel and very delicious indeed. First brew for me from Backyard and I am impressed! Well done, and enjoy!
