On tap at the source with Paul.
Pours a reddish amber color without much of a head when it got to my table. Sweet bready caramel and toasty malt with hints of earthy hops to counter. Not bad but not as refined as a well made German Bock.

A beer with this name couldn't be anything other than a bock.
In a pint glass the beer was a dark brown with a small tan head.
It had a big caramel aroma with some sweet fruit.
Mostly caramel taste, a bit of raisin.
Medium-bodied, nice beer.

Poured from a 32 oz crowler into a pint glass.
Pours a clear deep amber color with 2 fingers of khaki head. The head has great retention, leaving a nice ring of lacing before settling into a creamy sheet.
The aroma brings a ton of grains, caramel, and roasted cereal malts. There's also notes of plum and fig with just a hint of piney hops.
The taste has a ton of caramel, roasted pecans, and sweet dough. There's also some fig and brown sugar with a subtle piney hop finish. A little sweet but fairly balanced.
The feel is medium bodied with moderately low carbonation. Very smooth and creamy with a dry finish. Very clean.
Overall, a very good representation of a German Bock. It's sweet and malty with just enough hop presence to balance out the sweetness. Definitely worth trying if you enjoy German lagers. Also I love the goat reference. A nice nod to the history of the Bock style.
