Sample at the source.
Dark chestnut in color with a thin off white head that slowly dissipates. Dark caramelized sugars and light raisin and prune fruitiness. Medium body, cleanly fermented, really nice beer. Glad to have something other than an ipa or kettle sour these days especially in the summer!

Had this at the Brewery this past Saturday 8/10.
Very impressed with this one. I had the Grumpy Goat Bock from them and was impressed as well. Pours a dark amber color with a small head and faint lacing. The aromas of caramel, bread, and sweetness are present but not over powering.
The beer itself has a well balanced sweetness with rich flavors of caramel and brown sugar. At 9% I only had one but would gladly have more. Seasonally a little weird to be drinking a doppelbock in the August heat but the beer was so solid I cannot fault it!

Alewife and I swung by the Brewery yesterday to try this new offering. Each had a pint, for $6.00.
My glass held a clear, deep chestnut/mahogany brew. Had scant carbo, and a thin, light tan head. Lacing was on the light side. Had a rich malty nose of caramel and brown sugar. Body was a good medium, with a fairly smooth feel going down.
Flavor had more solid caramel malts, with another heaping dose of caramelized brown sugar, and notes of toasty brown bread. This was a very solid rendition of a sweetish, malty rich Doppelbock.
Prosit!!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
