Scored a 0.5l bottle today ($14.00) at the Brewery. Jumping in now whilst laxin' at The Haus....
Pours a clear, mahogany/amber/ruby color. Has some steady carbo emanating from the glass and heading topside. Super color, with a minimal head, mostly some light beige bubbles hanging out at the rim. Lacing is light, as well. Aromas has some distinct spicy action, along with plum, dates, and light cherry. Medium-bodied, and it is very smooth.
Flavor follows the nose, with lots of semi-sweet dark fruit - dates, cherry, plum, etc... Has a bit of candi-sugar, and intimations of caramelized brown-sugar. Then, on top of that, throw in some rum with spicy notes. That really kicks it up a notch! Finishes mostly on the dry side, with lingering fruitiness. Another spot-on Quad!! Prosit!!
