IPA-San Diego Style. Brewed in celebration of our 8th Anniversary, Yardcore is a punchy IPA that crosses over two styles. Originally coined by our friend Doug at 603 Brewery, a San Diego Style IPA blends characteristics of New England (hazy, soft, aromatic) and west coast (clear, classic bitterness, resinous) IPA styles. Hopped with Idaho 7 Cryo and Krush Cryo hops, as well as Krush Terpenes. The end result is an explosive citrus fruit aroma, coupled with present-but-restrained bitterness. Cheers to 8 years!

Took a day off from work... after getting some yard-work out of the way I ventured to Backyahd for lunch... had a couple of pours of this with my burger (16oz - $7.50). Opted for a 32oz crowler to go ($12.00). Diving into it now out in The 'Zebo...
Pours a clear (!!) bright golden color. Has some slow, steady carbo meandering topside. Head is a 2" dollop of frothy, rocky off-white suds. It slowly ebbs down to a covering layer, with lovely lace left arrears. Great to see a clear IPA after so much haze these days. Some lightly toasty malt and a hint of caramel are detected at first sniff. Thereafter it's rindy and pithy hoppage filling the air. Body is decently medium with a fairly smooth feel.
Flavor follows the aroma... more lightly toasted action... then citrussy bitterness arrives.... it's rindy and resiny, pithy and piney, with that hopping lingering nicely! A most solid brew for Backyard's 8th Anniversary.... and my 2500th review. Cheers!!
