33 ml bottle (aka Simon's Motor Oil Stout) from a bottle shop near the brewery in Split, Croatia.
Pours essentially black with a decent tan head.
While made with lactose, this stout has obvious off notes in both the aroma and the flavor, and very limited sweetness. The finish is mildly bitter and off notes linger in the aftertaste.
Feel: medium body with a bit of bite that is unlikely to be from the 5.2% ABV.
Overall: Perhaps a bad bottle, but being purchased from cold storage in a store near the brewery I have no sympathy. Avoid!
