There's a good Reason we chose Charlottesville as the home for our brewery. We all grew up around here, and if you ask us, it's just about the greatest little city in the world. This beer is a juicy, tropical love letter to our hometown, brewed in partnership with The Charlottesville 29 and Murphy & Rude Malting Company.

Poured a seethru, golden-orange body with minimal head and lace patches. Aroma of dank west coast type hops with some oiliness and hints of tropical fruits. This beer, and maybe I had a bad one compared others, is an earthy, dirty, west coast style IPA with some sweet grapefruit and citric hops on the backend. Crisp and dry finish with minimal bitterness.

I don't see a date on the bottom of the can or on the label.
Appearance: The body is a cloudy medium amber with a thick and slightly off-white head that is both large and retains well.
Aroma: The beer has a bursting aroma of fresh hop scent which oozes with hop bine oil, virgin garlic, and a ton of fresh mango. There is an aroma of what straddles peach and tangerine. It is a very enticing aroma.
Taste: There is an interesting mix of rye and hop oil that coat the tongue like a resin. There is a wealth of character here but nothing ever apexes or shows off a unique character.
Mouthfeel: The beer has good carbonation and a body that floats towards the bottom end of medium. There is a richness of both flavor and alcohol to the beer that makes it an apprehensive sipper.
Overall: There is a ton of character to this beer and while it is very interesting it also doesn't feel directed or poignant. There is a lot of raw talent and fresh ingredients behind this beer but it feels very wild and unspecified. It is interesting and it will please the palate but it also feels a bit random. I would recommend it.

Pours a crystal clear, amber color with a couple fingers thick, fluffy, white, head that clings to the glass as it goes down. Smells of tropical fruits, notably mango and papaya, with a hint of sweet malt. Taste is lightly sweet, tropical fruits in the front, some malt backbone notes, with a light bitterness towards the finish. Medium to medium-heavy body, light carbonation. Fairly nice, solid ipa.
