Solid stout!!! Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this beer features a dense black color with no light coming through. The head was equally big, looked light brown on first pour - then looking more dark cream color as it sat. Head retention was very good and there was plenty of lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste were good - typical stout characteristics: rich, slightly sweet bready malt, some chocolate and plenty of coffee. As the can mentioned there were "glints" of hops aroma. Not enough hops to make it bitter, but enough to notice. Mouthfeel was rich and smooth with a hint of bitterness and some alcohol warming. In all, a very good beer. If I had been the first to rate it, I would have labeled it an American Imperial Stout based on the higher .abv but it works as an American Stout too!!!

Very dark beer, almost black. Strong 10.9 abv. Tastes of chocolate, malt, and on the sweet side. Expensive.

Super smooth. good by the fire. kinda chocolaty. almost too sweet, almost. strong alcohol flavor, almost too much but clearly not. long meaty burnt and delicious aftertaste. almost burnt. could be a milk stout, but it is obviously not—good. In short, it pushes to the edge of where it should be so it’s exactly how i like it.
