Rusty Kiltpin is our flagship, malty Scottish 80/- ale. It's a rich mahogany in color and packed full of biscuity caramel and complex vanilla malt notes with a clean finish. FYI, this is a Scottish ale, not a Scotch ale. It's a subtle difference, but this is the session-strength younger sibling of the “wee heavy.”

12 fl oz pull-tab can (sold in 6x12 fl oz format at Biergarten Wine & Spirits, Jenks, Oklahoma).
"Scottish-style export ale." 5.2% ABV. 21 IBUs.
Heavy on caramel. Flirtations with vanilla, but little commitment. It's surprisingly thin and weak texturally for such a malty beer, but I dig its silky smoothness on the palate. Soft, as well, which accentuates its depth of malt flavour. Big brown malts, heavy caramel malt, low attenuation/high residual sugars. Toffee, biscotti, a scintilla of malted milk balls.
Has no overt hop flavour, nor should it. Has no overt yeast flavour.
I guess I hoped for a bit more toastiness if not a bit of roast, and it has some problems mouthfeel-wise (good God it's thin!) but I like a lot of what it has going. Well carbonated, smooth, wet, unrefreshing, light to medium-bodied (where it ought to be medium-bodied at a minimum), approachable. Not boozy, hot, or astringent. Not metallic or otherwise riddled with off-flavour.
It's a drinkable Scottish ale, but I guess I expected a truly impressive expression of the style given the name of the brewery...you'd think the Scottish ale (and I have to assume this is their flagship beer) from a brewery called Angry Scotsman would really dazzle, but it doesn't. Maybe the Scotsman's angry because of how far short the Americans attempting their beer styles are falling?
I do have to say I'm glad this kind of malt-forward flagship exists in the Oklahoma market, and I always like to see more Scottish styles available anywhere in the U.S. Shame it's not a very good one, but it's certainly above average when measured up against other American attempts at the style.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden brown color with a small, off-white head of foam. It smelled earthy with spices and roasted malt. Sweet toffee and caramel taste with a peaty/earthy finish.

This site says 4.7 ABV but every time I have had it here in OKC it says 5.2. Just clarifying.
Pours a dark reddish brown color with a 1/2 inch light tan head that barely fades and laces well. Aroma is nutty and malty. Taste is like toasted nuts and some smoky flavors, with malt present throughout. Very balanced flavors. Another review I read here says there is black tea in the finish and that is absolutely correct, I just didn’t realize that is what it was til I read the review. Feel is relatively light and easy to drink.
Overall, solid Scottish ale and great contribution from Angry Scotsman Brewing.

Pours to a permanent buff head that laces. Rusty copper and clear. Aroma is nutty, toasty and dryish malts. Flavor is toasty goodness throughout with a touch of smokiness and black tea in the finish. The mouthfeel is light and sessionable. Easy on the stomach. My god this is good. SOMETIMES LOCAL BEER IS FREAKING AWESOME. A malt head's beer for sure.

Look - dark ruby red color with a sticky white lacing and head
Smell - caramel glazed toasted biscuits
Taste - caramel molasses grainy toasted maltiness
Feel - medium body light carbonation, could use a little more carb
Overall - pretty yummy Scottish ale

A dark brown brew with reddish hues and a full dirty white froth.
Toasted malt flows freely out of the glass along with other notes of plum, fig and faint pine.
Caramel sweet and toasty on the tongue with a vein of molasses straigh through the middle and surrounded by more plum and fig.
This is balanced, easy drinking that does not fail to please on all levels.
