Visited the tap room in OKC today 1/11/2020 for the 2019 release.
Pours a dark amber color that is almost shiny. Thin white head retains well. Did not lace much at all.
Aroma is dark fruits, a bit of smoke, maybe some molasses in there as well. Booze is present.
Taste follows the aroma. The booze and dark fruits are the first thing I taste, followed by the smokiness and the slight bite of booze. Very earthy. It’s not overly complex, but it’s not super simple either.
Feel: medium body, higher carbonation than I was expecting. Definitely a sipping beer. I would have liked the finish to be a bit more dry.
Overall: enjoyable brew. A little off balance maybe but it’s something different to break any monotony on your palate.

12oz can stamped 2018 release 04/25/19 poured into snifter at just below fridge temp 9.8% ABV 56 IBU. The beer pours a beautiful, bright, darker amber with mahogany highlights and abundant light brown head. The head recedes to fat ring and island leaving a few spots of lacing. The aroma is raisin, prune, old leather, molasses and slight booze. The flavor is more of the same with dark fruits, leather, molasses, slight cigar tobacco all rolled into one long rollercoaster of flavor. No real change from front to back, just hints of taste bouncing in and out. Appropriate bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with less than medium carbonation and a semi dry finish. Overall, very good. Well done to style and enjoyable even after the BB date.

Pours an effervescent & slightly murked brown/chestnut with 3 fingers of rocky tan head. Nice head retention & lacing, never drops bright
S: Pears, figs, traces of booze
T: Follows the nose, bready dryness and leafy hops as well up front, a touch of toffee as well. Dryness, figs, a trace of toffee & stronger leafy hops as this warms. Finishes dry with leafy hops & just a little figgyness & faint peatyness
MF: Medium body, slightly over carbonated for the style, this needs more depth of body
ABV is well hidden, but middle of the pack fro the style
