Picked this up a few weeks back up at Cable Beverages, as I had never had anything from Kills Boro before. Heck, I'd never heard of them before as Flagship was the only brewery on Staten Island that I was familiar with. Since this was an IPA, I figured it would be a safe bet and yes, this did hit all of the proverbial check marks. The use of Pilsner Malt and white wheat ensured that this would have a somewhat dry mouthfeel and tone to it but the hops were just present enough to balance those out to a large extent.
As expected, this had a fairly typical pour with a golden, quietly radiant look with enough bubbles in the liquid and head topping it off to seem pleasing right off the bat. Lots of white wheat in the nose with some Pilsner Malt, tangerine, floral orange, and exotic floral notes as the taste was pretty much the same. Full and just juicy enough, a bit of apricot and hop burn emerged once this fully warmed up as there was an underlying ripeness to this beer that never quite let go throughout the remainder of my session.
The amount of alcohol was spot-on as I felt the warming, minus the booze, and there was only a minimal amount of dark sediment at the bottom of my pint glass. That was a plus given that this was canned on 11/26 as it held up well over the last 8 months. I would like to have another offering or two from Kills Boro, as this was nicely crafted without having any outstanding attributes in particular. Glad to see the other Boroughs of New York stepping their game up!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
