We’ve entered the festbier game with our very first Oktoberfest inspired lager. Fest bier is a marzen brewed with 100% German Bavarian malts and hops. Brewed with Pilsner, Vienna, Light and Dark Munich, and Chocolate malts. Hopper with Tettnang and Spalter.

Pours a dark amber, 1" head that dissipates to a thick coaster, light lacing. Nose is dark fruit, rye toast, grassy and earthy hop, light cumin and coriander. Taste is consistent - a very good balance of deeply roasted malt (caramel, rye, baked bread) without becoming too sweet, together with spicy, earthy, moderately bitter and lingering hops. Mouthfeel is on the plus side of moderate with full carbonation. A very pleasant surprise.

A: The beer is crystal clear deep copper in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that left a collar around the edge and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of toasted malts are present in the nose along with notes of spicy hops.
T: The taste has flavors of toasted and caramel malts along with floral and spicy hops. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and somewhat clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. There is a touch of dryness in the finish.
O: I thought that the taste of this beer had a nice balance between the malts and hops.
