Old world meets the tuns of Shaolin. Paying homage to Czech moravian brewing traditions "Shadowboxin'" features Moravian barley, double-de-cocted to bring out that continental malt flavor.

On tap at Kills Boro Brewing in Staten Island, NY.
This one pours a very dark brown, nearly black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells nicely roasty, with some some soft chocolate and light herbal character.
This has such a soft maltiness that’s really lovely – chocolatey and roasty, almost velvety. There’s some light hoppy and herbal bitterness, too.
This is light bodied, but creamy, crisp, and quite drinkable.
I love a good dark lager, and this is really nice example of one.
