I found this beer to be rather strange. I was pleasantly surprised by the crisp aroma and inviting orange color, but the wispy white head didn't do much for me.
This is not a very complex ale. Sort of confusing inital taste which smoothes out very quickly into a basic low-bitterness, small flavored pale ale. Finish is unusually sweet instead of bitter like I expect from the style.
All in all, a decent summer brew - one that I would choose over most macro crap in a heartbeat and good for beating the heat but definitely not a brew that I would go out of my way to find or even buy a sixer of. There is much better stuff out there.

Pours with a big fluffy head and a carmely, light amber hue. Airy head leaves some light lacings behind.
Smell is grainy malt with some earthy hops. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel and a fairly dry finish. Taste is nice if a bit on the earthy side, not really a crisp beer that I would expect from a summer seasonal but good nevertheless. Overall a nice beer I plan on trying again.

Golden brown in color with a small white head that provides no lacing.
The aroma is of faint hops and a bit grassy.
Its flavor is slightly citrus and has faint traces of malt and hops. It is quite watery though.
Mouth feel is super light in body and is medium in carbonation. As stated above, the wateriness makes it easy to drink but also something that I will not revisit.

Poured a copper color with a thick white head.
Smell was a mild citrus odor.
Taste was mostly a citrus hop flavor with a touch of caramel malt in the mix. Still not as hoppy as I would have liked it to be.
Mouthfeel was ok, a touch thin even for a summer pale.
Drinkability was decent. Nothing spectactular here, but easy enough to enjoy in the summer heat.

eyes...
your basic copper-clear hue, decent white head that puffs up and sustains a small film fed by ample carbonation. nice enough.
nose...
the lemony bliss and pine notes usually associated with amarillo hops are barely detectable, a little malt sweetness, a little bread, ok.
taste...
I can taste the amarillos, a nice lemon slick before the floral bitter, mouthfeel is just barely not watery, it's walking that tight rope. You get some of the malt, it sips easy enough as well.
verdict?
not bad..but not great. pleasant to the point of almost being mundanely good. nothing foul about it in any category...but it wont knock your socks off.

This is "just another" Pale Ale. Pours to a clear coppery color with a good amount of carbonation and a thin but stable white head.
The smell is kind of weak. Has a small bready malt aroma to it, but nothing huge. To my disappointment, I couldn't smell any of the amarillo, which is my most favorite aromatic hop.
The taste is sweet with a light touch of caramel. The hops are more apparent in the flavor than the nose, but still don't quite meet up to my expectations of the beauty of the amarillo. Has a light bitter and citric aftertaste. Not quite as light and refreshing as I was hoping for a summer seasonal Pale Ale hopped with amarillo (see 3F's Gumballhead Wheat Ale, for instance).
The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a pleasant bitterness. Maybe too bitter and dry for what a summer seasonal should be, but for judging strictly as a pale ale, it's good. Not nearly on the level of drinkability as something such as SNPA, however.

Pours a clear orangeish amber colored ale.
Smell is light and a bit sweet smelling with a toasted grain scent. Lesser scents of iced tea and honeysuckle.
Taste is mild sweetness and biscuit malt and a faint bit of hops. That is about all for the taste just a mild ale flavor without any complexities.
Mouthfeel is OK.
Drinkability is OK. This beer could be the poster child for an average beer without any faults. Nothing wrong with it, but it is boring and basic.

Pours with a pumpkin orange core with yellow edges. This pint came topped with a dense, rocky off-white head and a nicely balanced astringent nose.
Entry shows prickly carbonation and malty overtones. Midtaste has a laid-back malty presence and, frankly, not a whole lot else. The finish plays it safe with a malty fade to mediocrity.
Mouthfeel is thin...no chances taken with this brew results in no pleasant surprises for this reviewer.

Pours a rich copper with smallish head and lace. Neutral aroma with a faint, inviting hint of yeast. The ale is malty, surprisingly so, with a gentle lemony hop bite towards the finish to provide crispness and a distinct finish. Close to your standard British-style pale, such as Bass or Full Sail Rip Curl. I'm not quite sure what makes this an especially summer-y beer, but it is satisfying nonetheless and mellow enough to slake a hot weather thirst. The malts are rich and characterful, with biscuit, bread-crust flavors and a very slight butterscotch. Satisfying, nourishing mouthfeel which is thinnish but very pleasing. I fully enjoyed this beer, and although summer is basically over, I will be certain to look for this next year. I imagine, when this beer is perfectly fresh (my sample is a couple months old), it's an absolute winner.

12oz. bottle poured into a tulip-style glass. It pours a hazy deep orange color with two fingers of head. There is a little bit of lacing left on the glass. The smell is a little bit on the malty side, but still has some hop presence. The overall smell isn't too strong at all. The taste very malty up front. Slightly sweet, a little bit of orange. There is a light hoppy finish, very refreshing. The mouthfeel is really thick for an APA, yet very smooth. The drinkability is good too. A decent APA.

It is odd. I didn't find much in this beer. Not much of a smell, just some hops, possibly some lemon. There wasn't much of a head. It has a good brown color and it tastes like a pale ale. Just dry enough for me to know it is a pale ale with those hops, and possibly some lemon, coming out in the taste. It felt fine and went down fine but it didn't glow with anything amazing. That said, I liked it for a good, straightforward beer.

Pours a lightly hazy light amber color with a thin off-white head. Thin lacing remained for the entire glass. The aroma is mildly hoppy with a bit of malt peeking out occasionally. Light-bodied with a watery texture. Light hops and malt flavors along with a periodic fruitiness, but overall the flavor is very timid. The finish is clean and sweet. A decent summer beer I suppose but falls short in the APA category all around.

A very solid pale ale from Grant's. Pours a nice orange goldish with a slightly off white head that is decent. The lacing is okay, nothing will blow you away. The smell is strong of citrus and very clean to the nose, slight malty tones as well. The taste is a beautiful blend of sweet malt and slight bitter hop. The citrus brings a nice refreshing flavor as well. The caramel hops are slight but nice. A light bodied pale ale and very refreshing. Goes down very well, great drinkability.

Slightly hazy copper, forming a modest white head with a hefty pour. Retention is poor and lacing is less than average. Carbonation is mild to moderate. Aroma is quite interesting...at first it gives me the impression of a seared steak, then it takes on a very pronounced caramel candy and butterscotch note...diacetyl without a whole lot of typically associated fusels. Candi sugar and whole wheat buttered toast. Mouthfeel is soft and very mild with a medium body. The taste is an echo of the aroma, with a mild sugary sweetness. Considering that Amarillo hops are touted on the bottle, I sure can't taste em'. Funky fruity bitterness in the finish is very mild. Very English yeast strain...tastes like Ringwood or Windsor to me.
Quite average...may be a change of pace, and a hint of "actual beer taste" for the macrodrinkers out there, but this is not my bag, baby. In a pinch, I might drink it, but not out of choice. "Granted", (ahem), Grant's doesn't brew terribly good stuff, but this would be among the bottom of the line. Much closer to an ESB or English Pale than an American Pale Ale.

The Pour....the color is a bright and clear orangish color with a nice head that laces quite well.
The smell is very sweet and creamy with a nice hop balance to it.
The taste is quite refreshing. Has a nice malt profile at the start semi sweet and finishs with a nice hop zest to it.

Nice golden-amber body, topped by finger-plus flat table top of tight white foam. Good lacing. Nice label of an Adirondack chair, with glass, on the beach.
Aroma...you know how sometimes you feel you're in the middle of a hay field... this field is in a different county. If I inhale further I will be drinking with my nose, and I sense almost nothing.
A watery malt start following by a mild hop wash, and a slight lingering hop afterburn. My taste buds are getting lazy from underwork.
When cool, mouthfeel suggests a pale ale with water added to the glass. Summer ales can be lighter bodied, but that should come with a crispness. And when it warms up, it's way too syrupy.
On a broiling hot summer day I could see blowing thru a sixer of this, but under average conditions, there is no great desire to run out and grab another.
Overall, a letdown. Not crisp enough to be refreshing, too watery chilled, too thick warm, and, far worse for a beer with Bert Grant's name, it is nowhere near hoppy enough. Besides the Perfect Porter, is any BG beer worth drinking these days?

Poured a golden yellow color. Very clear with a soft carbonation. A thin head of foam topped this beer off. The aroma has some slightly pungent and lemony grains. The taste is very mild and has touches of caramel malt sweetness and A hint of sharp graininess. Body is light with lemony malts and a muddled bitterness. The beers soft characteristics make for a very pleasant and enjoyable beer. Not bad, but nothing extraordinary.

This beer is very average. Pours a nice golden color with a good, lacy head, perhaps this beer's best characteristic is its appearance. But smell is very subtle and indiscript and taste is quite average. Light and refreshing, this would be a good beer to sip in 90 degree weather by the pool, but lacks the flavor depth I look for in my beers.

The beer pours a dark golden color with a thin white lace head. The aroma is decent. It has a mildy malty scent with a grainy aroma. It is light on hops. The taste is decent as well. It has a light malt complexity that goes down easy and refreshes on the finish. It is a tad dry and grainy, with a slight sweet aftertaste. The mouthfeel is good. It is a low/medium bodied beer with good carbonation. This is a fine seasonal, but I don't really care for the grainy flavor. Otherwise, it would be a good brew for those hot days.
