473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for around $3.35 CDN. Called Hazy Susan but labelled as West Coast IPA? Hmmm.
Appearance - Strangely enough only a very mildly hazy light golden color. Topped with two fingers of loose bubbly white foam. Good staying power and some sparse lacing.
Smell - A little bit of lemon and grapefruit, hints of pine resin. Running more toward a classic west coast IPA. Bready malts beneath the surface.
Taste - Lemon, hints of orange and grapefruit, but actually quite light in flavor. Finishes fairly bitter. Not a lot of pine resin, but not tropical and juicy like most NEIPA's. Kind of like an amped up Session IPA that isn't quite a full blown one.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, dry finish, good and bubbly.
Overall - Nothing wrong with Hazy Susan, but it's not as hazy as it's name would imply and more importantly the aromas and flavors are nice, but nothing really beyond that. Worth a go, but many better local options in the current beer climate.
