Pours a clear amber color with rings of white foam in the Chimay chalice. Sharp on the tongue with a distinctive spritzy mouthfeel. Huge nose of pear and a touch of clove. Brewery says this is made with Sterling and Czech Saaz hops and Pilsner malt. Well, it's all the the crazy candy-cane yeast. Rather sweet to start but so sharp, plus the nose dive into the dry finish.
Quite interesting and complex. Distinct estery taste, with a woody scratch in the finish. Aftertaste is quite bold with the yeast and bitter flavors. Overall this is a clean and well-made Belgian style brew. From the 32 oz crowler can purchased at the Rouleur brewery.
