A Clydesdale is a rare breed with a stature that is large and robust, made to perform lots of work. Bred for the long haul, with a certain heftiness, they are able to take the long pull. The Clydesdale India Pale Ale is bold, strong and purposeful, able to keep going when the others have succumbed. The Clydesdale IPA has a solid malt backbone and is “hoppy” in flavor and aroma, but not bracingly bitter and is different enough to be memorable and go the full distance. Clean, purposeful and without pretense.

Clear amber brew with plenty of foam in the Saxo tall tulip. Aroma of mango and citrus. It's quite seriously malty, but not overly sweet. A pleasant tingle on the tongue but not highly carbonated. Some acidity for sure, but again it's moderate. Enough bitterness to balance. Hops are listed at Amarillo, Azacca, and Simcoe, and 65 IBUs are claimed.
Highly flavorful with all the hops; lime peel, mango, a touch of papaya. Very fruity with the citrus peel finish. Overall this is quite friendly and drinkable. It's very bold with the hops, though, and will not disappoint the hop enthusiast. From the 32 oz crowler purchased at the brewery tasting room.
