Katowice 4/10 2019. 50 cl can from Fuel Station. Big shield on the can and the name of the beer in Winding letters.

Pours clear yellow with a big white head. Settles as 3 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass, Substantial lacing.

Aroma is medium intense, sweetish with a light chemical streak. Sweet pale malts, sweet fruitiness, sourish grains, unwashed socks.

Light carbonation. Thin, oily, almost flat texture.

Flavor is medium sweet followed by a fairly strong, harsh bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a chemical tang. Lingers for a bit.

Not the most convincing imitation of a Czech Pilsener. Could do without the unwashed socks.

Czech style pilsner, brewed in Poland using Czech hops.

Sweet malty and flowery aroma. Great head level, light and yellowy appearance.

Refreshing, good foamyness in the mouth feel. Not as thin and lifeless as some other budget Polish beers such as Zubr and Warka, yet a similar price. Malt is fairly light and there is good flavour and bitterness from the hops. Hops bitterness and malt sweetness dominate the flavour, there are also some flavours of banana, roses, orange peel and lemon.

Taste and mouth feel is fairly simple without a huge amount of aftertaste or different elements, but considering the price, it's pretty impressive. I prefer Tyskie qnd Perla Chmielowa, but I would put this at a similar level as Lomza, Lech and Namyslow.
