We turned this stout up to 11 with an insane amount of hand toasted coconut, and boosted the velvety chocolate richness with tons of organic cacao nibs.

4 oz taster on tap at the tap room in OKC (I then quickly purchased a full 10 oz serving...)
Look: pours a dark, dark black with a thin light tan head. Head retains well around the circumference of the glass. No lacing left at all. The look is appealing to someone who likes stouts like I do, but I could imagine someone who doesn’t would not be interested by appearance alone.
Smell: strong bourbon and chocolate. Notes of dark fruit and coconut.
Taste: lots of chocolate, coconut, bourbon, and a bit of a “campfire” taste that is difficult for me to describe. Very balanced and not too heavy on the booze. The aftertaste lasts a while but is actually quite pleasant.
Feel: body is decently full, but it doesn’t punch me in the face like I might expect from a 13+% beer. Impact is mainly on the back of the throat - it warms me up like a shot of Jameson does, but tastes a lot better in my opinion.
Overall, this was a great surprise and an incredible stout. I would place this just a couple of notches below the Founder’s stouts I have tried (various KBS batches and CBS), but above most other beers I have tried regardless of variety. If you like stouts and happen to be anywhere near Oklahoma City, it’s definitely worth a try.

From a 16 oz. can into a PAA Dino glass, this beer pours out pitch black and forms a pinky worth of caramel colored bubbles.
The nose brings boozy, alcohol soaked milk chocolate and toasted coconut. Like quickly dipping a mounds bar into a glass of alcohol.
The taste comes in with different layers of chocolate; milk, dark, slightly charred over a fire. It mixes with toasted coconut and a slight booziness that lets you guess it’s a little higher in ABV. I still wouldn’t say the booze is out of balance for over 13% ABV.
Overall, this is a big, boozy, chocolatey, coconut monster. I like it.

Mine says 13.2% ABV
Pours an effervescent ebony with 2+ fingers of tight tan head. Minimal head retention and lacing
S: Dark fruit & a little toasted coconut
T: Plenty of cocoa, dryness & just a little coconut up front. Dryness, Baker's Chocolate & a little toasty coconut as this warms & just a little raisin & toasted malt, a little vanilla as well. Finishes dry with Dark chocolate, some vanilla and a little bit of toasty coconut
MF: Medium/thick body with pretty dialed back carbonation
ABV is well disguised, pretty solid, albeit pricey offering
