What a surprise!
16oz draught on 10-15-17 @ the Stonecloud Taproom
Amber-orange color with a nice off white head that left plenty of lacing. Layers of malty flavor and a delicious unique hoppiness (Mandarina Bavaria late)....fantastic, one of the better beers I've had in a while and by far the best beer I tasted over the weekend in OKC among some really good beers.
Every other beer I had at Stonecloud was on point as well, a jewel in OKC for sure, go find it and drink it!

Pours to a permanent buff head that laces and lasts. Mild and clean malt aroma. Flavor is on the crisp and dry side--not too sweet or doughy. Clean finish. Light mouthfeel. A tasty but simple O-fest. It is not heavy, chewy and complex like may other US renditions of the style. It conforms to style guidelines but in a bare bones/minimalist way to dramatically increase "quaffability". Don't get me wrong. I'm not knocking the likes of Rahr and Sons and Lost Forty. They make delicious versions but at a higher gravity and complexity. Those are for sipping and savoring. Steingraber is for easy drinking and parties. Would pair well with a schnitzel sandwich or bratwurst.
Stonecloud is a world class operation. None...and I mean NONE of their beers has been a dud so far and I've had at least eight of their offerings. If you are to visit ONE brewery in downtown OKC ...as of this writing.... this is the ONE.
