A big, bad and beautiful tan froth tops off this jet black brew and fades slowly; journeying to the end of the night.
The aroma is bold with notes of milk chocolate, vanilla, beer bread, molasses and waves of rum.
Molasses, sweet chocolate and rum cake coat the tongue before other notes of vanilla, dark fuit and gum slowly reveal themselves.
Silky and sweet but never cloying and stays substantial in body from start to finish. The subtle alcohol heat and faint pine add balance. There's a bit of spiciness in the aftertaste.
This is the kind of beer that could keep people waiting in lines for absurd amounts of time in all types of weather to get a taste of. Thankfully you don't have to go through that madness to get some of this absolutely brilliant brew.
This is hands down Stonecloud's best RIS offering yet.
