Pure amber with a lot more clarity than I've become used to in an IPA (more on that later).
Pine forward with plenty of light fruit (green apple, pear, grape) wafting under the nose.
Has near perfect blend of caramel, hops and light fruits and drinks about as smooth as I've encountered.
Lighter in body than expected, and while not a hop bomb, there's plenty of IBU's to keep the party going.
With the proliferation of the NE IPA over the past few years it's become quite easy to foget about the classic old-school WC style. Add in the proliferation of mediocre-to-bad WC style IPA's that drove us into the $10 six pack era and beyond, then it's quite amazing that this style hasn't gone the way of the Dodo bird. That's why it's so exciting to see an elite level brewery, one that's not really known for making traditional beers, attack this one head on, and do it with style.
