I do not really like most IPA stuff but this is a decent one, imo. It is dark, obviously, and the the usual bitterness is not all that pronounced. I find it to be a really nice beer overall. I probably would not want to drink 2 or more in close order, but it is otherwise a nice ale.

Visited the tap room today 3/13/21 for some good beer and Irish music playing over the speakers. Haven’t been here in nearly a year since I moved from OKC. Good to be back for a bit. I saw “black IPA” and bought it without hesitation.

Pours midnight black with a light tan head that started about an inch thick lasted a really long time. It looks like a beautiful Stout with a thick head. This is how beer should look in my opinion.

I get lots of citrus, pine, and herbs in the aroma. There’s something nutty there too but it’s more subtle for me.

Taste pretty much follows the nose, but it doesn’t quite have the bite I was expecting based on the aroma.

Feel is dangerously smooth. Medium bodied, carbonation is lower than most of my favorite IPAs.

Overall - you literally could not go wrong with Stonecloud and I will die on this hill. This is just another example of what they’re capable of. Took some to go since I don’t live close anymore.

One of my favorite styles, and not one you see a lot of, so stoked for this one.

Dark brown brew topped with a big tan froth that stays for days.

Mostly caramel and nut in the aroma along with some pine and subtle herb and dark fruit.

Tastes nutty and fruity followed by a touch of pine and treacle. Medium body. Hints of alcohol in the finish.

Not quite as flavorful as I had hoped, but still a well-made brew.
