Sampling a cellar temp 12 oz can date stamped 2/23/2023. Pouring into my trusty snifter for a relaxing evening.
The beer pours a black coffee color with a frothy tan head of .5 cm. This foam fades to a sturdy edging soon after I finish the pour. The edging does stick around throughout the sampling and leaves some dense lattice after each sip or swirl. No light passes through the glass.
Aroma is bold on this beer! I get roasted malt and coffee grounds, a solid dose of whisky and the fusol booze to go with it. There is also hints of sweeter cream note but never any hops. this beer smells like pretty much what you would expect from the beer from its description on the can.
The first sip reveals a fairly thick body and full mouthfeel, fine tingly carbonation rounds it out for physical traits.
Flavor is some sweet irish cream baileys, a dose of coffee grounds and some whisky. Actually tastes a lot like a light and sweet coffee. There is a little warming booze on the background, but it drinks easier than it should. Never any hop profile. I enjoy this beer and suspect it is a pretty dangerous one, based on ABV and ease of drinking!

Pours an effervescent mahogany with a pinky of mocha colored head. Some head retention & lacing
S: Rich barrel notes, dark fruit, some caramel, not picking up any coffee, otherwise, all that
T: Barrel dryness/rawness, vanilla, mocha. certainly, the Rye Whiskey flavor, some caramel up front. Vanilla Mocha, Rye Whiskey burn & spiciness with rich oak & vanilla notes. Finishes with barrel dryness, Rye spice, caramel & some coffee notes
MF: Chewy, low carbonation, warming
Easily the best dark beer I have had from these guys, pricy beer, but worth it. Would hoard this if I found it again, I believe it was the last can on the shelf at Parkhill's in Tulsa
