Fun place. Baseball theme in and out. Great bobblehead collection and if you have a crew, you can rent a wiffleball field. If you can buy into their mug club, you get to drink out of a hallowed out baseball bat. Beer can leave something to be desired, but is not bad. Can go heavy on some styles from time to time but should be able to find what you like. Worth a stop.

A great lowkey spot with great service that goes beyond your basic IPAs. Straight Chedd and Corre Corre are the best here.

We visited Broken Bat Brewery on Labor Day Weekend. Located in the Public Market area, the brewery is cozy, with a lot of excellent beer selections. The double IPA was very tasty. All of the beers have a baseball theme, and the bartenders were very attentive. Excellent vibe and well-made beer.

As a big baseball fan, it seemed that a visit to Broken Bat Brewery was a no-brainer for me. The look and feel of the place was definitely in my wheelhouse. The door handles to the place are old baseball bats, the beer names are all pulled straight from hardball lingo, and you must check out the bathroom to see the unique wallpaper the owners used.
When I visited Broken Bat, they only had four beers available: Straight Chedd (apricot pale ale), Double Play IPA, Mint Condition (mint-infused porter), and Climb the Wall (farmhouse ale). The only beer that I really enjoyed was the Double Play IPA. The others weren't anything to write home about. I didn't taste any mint in the porter, the apricot ale was not my style, and the farmhouse ale was bland. They did have an amazing snack mix of peanuts and M&Ms for you to munch on while you sipped your beer, but there is no other food available for purchase. That said, they do allow you to carry in food if you so desire.
Since my visit last spring, it seems the folks there have come up with several other new beers over the summer and fall, and I am excited to go back and give the place another try. I am looking forward to trying their amber ale called Sox and their 755 Imperial Stout.
This place has the makings of a great venue for baseball fans and beer lovers to come together and share their passion for America's Pastime and America's favorite beverage. With some more beer options and time to hone their craft, I can see Broken Bat breaking out and becoming a solid utility player in the Milwaukee craft beer league.
