Tried this new little brewery in STL and found this to be a nice beer. Very dark and strong finish with great notes of hops and feel. The beer wasn't very carbonated but could taste the chocolate notes and sweet flavors.

Poor is a black color. 1/3 inch head of an off-white color. Good retention and decent lacing. Smells of strong fresh malt, sweet malt, caramel malt, hint of yeast, hint of roasted malt, and spicy hops. Fits the style of an American Black Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong fresh malt, sweet malt, caramel malt, hint of yeast, hint of roasted malt, hint of chocolate, and spicy hops. Overall, lacking the piney hop characteristics, but still really good; good blend, complexity, body, and aroma.
