Walnut black under a substantial head. Settles to a film and gives lots of fine lace all the way down. Just a bit of sweet malt and some dark fruit on the nose. Drinks like a soft stout. Some of the bitterness, ash, charcoal, dark chocolate you get with one of those. Thin bodied. Bitter, slightly drying finish. Hoppy at the back end. Quite drinkable.

BREWER'S TASTING NOTES: "This black and bitter ale was made with local malts, hopped with Galena for bittering and Centennial and Cascade hops for flavour and aroma. Smooth and rich. A dark and gorgeous ale with a lovely bitter finish."
Can from Farm League Brewing - pours a clouded dark brown that defies light passing through the glass, 2 finger tight-pored mocha colored cap that lasts..aromas of pine, fruits, floral with a rich roasted grain notes....rich, well rounded smooth character, full bodied...flavor is a lush mix of roasty maltiness and various hop mixture (pine, floral, citrus) in a wonderful thick balance....long wet finish where all the flavors amalgamate in a climax on your palate..wow...probably one of the better Cascadian ales I've ever sampled
