L: Had this beer on-tap at Growlers to Go - Short Pump, poured into a snifter glass. Had a dark brown / black color and a thick consistency. There was a half inch of creamy, tan-colored, somewhat long-lasting head. Pretty good lacing.
S: A decent, but not spectacular, aroma of chocolate, coffee, honey, roasted malt, and an earthiness.
T: Tasted of a good amount of roasted malt (present throughout), a bit of coffee (could've used more), a big shot of dark chocolate (overdone), light hops, a little honey, and some of the earthiness. Not a bad flavor, but a little all over the place. The bitter chocolate seems a little overwhelming at times. A little more balance would work.
F: A well-carbonated beer with a sharp finish. Medium-bodied.
O: An uneven beer, but one with potential. Worth a look.
