Served on tap in a shaker pint at Firefly.

A: Hazy gold with 1-2 finger frothy off-white head with good retention and lacing.

S: Peachy aroma with a heavy dose of candied fruit esters

T: More malty than I was expecting with a sweetbread background with mix of peach, mango, and grapefruit hop flavors and plenty of ester-driven candied fruit and bubble gum flavors.

M: Slightly think and not as dry as I would have thought but still pretty drinkable at 8%.

O: I’m glad I had a chance to try Vasen Norse DIPA.

16oz can served in a tulip glass. 07/24/24 13:48:34 date stamp on bottom of can, so a bit elderly, but let's see if it held up.

Appearance: Cloudy gold to amber color, thin white head with plenty of strands of lacing. Looks quite a bit like a NEIPA at first glance, not a DIPA.

Smell: Citrus, tropical fruit, berry notes, maybe a bit of peach.

Taste: A lot like it's smell - plenty of citrus and tropical fruit notes, a bit juice-like with the hops, bready malt with some sweetness for balance, mild hop citrus bitterness for finish.

Mouthfeel: Nice thickness, maybe a little chewy, just right carbonation, not that sticky on the teeth.

Overall / Drinkability: This held up surprisingly well given its age. I do wonder if it would have been more punchy fresh, but very enjoyable. I'll have to look for it again next time I'm in VA.

From the probably a little warm can, it pours a hazy, almost milky, amber color with a nice white head that diminishes to a thin layer and leaves lacing. The nose gets some sweet citrus, mandarin orange and pineapple. The mouth gets a mild citrusy with a touch of bitter malt that lingers in the mouth for awhile. Mouthfeel is medium.

T: Bam! That's a total fruit explosion. Pineapple, mango, and mandarin.

M: medium feel, a bit creamy, and smooth.

O: delicious. Good stuff.

This one pours a fairly hazy and syrupy looking golden orange, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells distinctly of very fruity bubblegum, with orange, and peach.

I think the kveik yeast thing has just made this one way, way too sweet for my personal tastes. There’s no bitterness, and there’s almost this like cotton candy and bubblegum sweetness that it’s off putting to me.

This is not crisp enough, and kind of presents on the syrupy side of thing.

I did not love this one. I’ve enjoyed other beers with the kveik yeast strain, but not this one particularly.

cloudy pour small head. Very quiet brew.

Lots of tropical scents, pineapple, mango,

Immediate taste is juicy, citrus tangerine. But that gives way to smooth middle, with a hint of spice, and touch bitter hops and some alcohol warmth. Finnish is quick and leaves the candy nature of the brew lingers. A bit on the sweet side, but nonetheless lots to enjoy.

Really solid juicy DIPA, simultaneously refreshing and complex.

Taster at Väsen. Kviek yeast rules the day here. Light and fruity, smooth, sweet. Very approachable and mild, but packing an invisible punch. Easy to drink and but watch out.. smooth, sweet.

On tap in Arlington va. The beer is a dark gold, cloudy, topped with a fizzy off-white head. Nice classic hop character. Pine, citrus peel, some orange and spice. Balanced with bready malt. Taste is balanced. Spicy notes infused throughout. Orange and cream. Mango. Pine. Full mouth feel, but still smooth. Overall this was really nice. I'd get this again for sure. A nice change.

Pours a super hazy orangish yellow color with a short lived white head. Tropical fruit on the nose especially guava and mango which is also what it tastes like. There’s a hops and grapefruit marginal bitterness which is very well balanced. Excellent brew!

Pours a hazy orange with soft head.

Smell is juicy and fruity with notes of pineapple, peach, citrus and some hints of dank melon and herbs.

Taste is juicy and a bit sweet with a nice fruitiness from the Kveik. Notes of mango, melon, citrus, grapes and some dankness. Soft bitterness with a dry finish.

Mouthfeel is medium, soft, pillowy and well carbonated.

Overall, a very nice DIPA, enhanced by the Kveik.
