I don’t like milk stouts but this beer is a different story. The raspberries take a front seat when you taste this beer. Not overwhelming but you cannot ignore them either. The barrel aging is clearly evident as well but not hot or excessive. I attribute the tartness of the raspberry and the ethanol from the barrel to cutting the milk sweetness that typically turns me off to this style.
