Brewery tap-filled can, poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium to dark red/copper with a fine, half finger, off-white head with great retention and slippery solid lacing. Aroma of bready biscuit malt, red berries, plums and a little toffee. Flavor follows, with bready biscuit and dry caramel malt, mixed red berries with a touch of cranberry, mild lemon citrus and some toffee. Light bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess, nice mouth feel. Although listed as an amber on the brewery tap list, this leans well into red ale territory, which is exactly where I'd like it to be. Has great beery notes with hints of citrus and quite malty. Bitterness is subdued, which is fine for this style. The mouth feel is unexpectedly fine and adds a lot to flavor experience. This version a bit higher ABV at 5.2%. Nicely done.
