Blackberry Picker

i liked this one just a bit more than the raspberry picker, i think the fruit is a little more subtle, and the sweetness doesnt seem quite as overpowering with this fruit for some reason. these give a little more color to the beer too, just a fait purple shade to the golden brew still though, and a short white head. i smell the vanilla first, i think blackberries are a little less obvious aromatically than are raspberries, so it ends up with a jammy but sort of generic fruity smell here. the flavor though is nice with the fruit, really ripe and natural tasting blackberry, made almost pie like with the vanilla and lactose. i taste a little less of the malt in the base beer here, seems simplified and almost boring, but all the additives keep the beer quite unique and interesting. its too sweet for heavy drinking, but its a nice glass of beer, especially in the morning and especially on a hangover. the vanilla is prominent so you have to like that sort of thing, but overall this is a nice desserty blonde brew that should do well for them. if the are making a series out of these, i nominate peach next!
