super solid beer from these guys, fresh spruce tips in the mix, but an excellent base pale underneath, super simple, but nowhere to hide any flaws in a brew like this, really well done, maybe even exclusively pale two row barley on the grain base, its lightly cerealy, super pale in color, and without a ton of flavor to it, just slightly earthy and clean, which is nice with the citrus forward hops and the fragrant pine that has been added to it. the spruce is obvious in nose and taste, a little more forward in the aroma to me, but clean and natural and not at all overdone, i like the brightness it brings, festive to me this time of year, usually you see this sort of thing in the spring when the new growth on the trees is fresh, i wonder how they sourced it here, as the beer tastes plenty fresh. some lemon to the hops, but they too are light, but do provide some nice bitterness to help crisp up the finish. i like how minimal this is, how light in body, and how drinkable, a simple but nicely executed pale with the spruce essence to it, lovely winter drinker here, and a new high point for me in my experience with radio brewing. this is an awesome spruce beer, and i love them all!
