starting to see more radio beers around boise, ive liked the few ive had reasonably well and its exciting to have more of them showing up. this is a rather basic amber, a little more bitter from hops on the back end and less sweet on the grain side than many, but its not radical or anything, and serves as a useful and drinkable pint, especially with rich and with spicy foods. typical copper look to it, a full inch of tan head from the tap only slowly fading, and lots of rising carbonation. the nose is more of a nutty and kilned type grain than a concentrated or caramelized profile, less sweet right away, and the same is true in the taste. its got crusty bread and mellow raisin notes, and then later on its slightly grassy and pretty bitter from hops but without a ton of hop flavor. i think the ferment is pretty tidy, and i like the earthy simple nature of the grain, good depth of flavor while remaining on the dry side for the style. the high carbonation makes it almost refreshing, and quite drinkable as the style goes. nothing real wild or anything, but a well made example of the style that stands out to me for being as clean and fast as it is, uncommon to have one this brisk, a great palate cleanser with the intense fusion food we were crushing with it. ill look forward to my next one from radio!

pour at CdA brewfest. It's an amber ale. We all know what they taste like. No surprises here. Tassty malts, mild sweetness, light nutty falvors. Any questions?
