credit to these guys, this does in fact taste like horchata, and even though i dont want to drink three pints of it, i respect the effort, it is what it claims to be. blonde but not that light, more brassy golden i suppose with some light haze and a short white head from the tap, a bit of body apparent. is this rice based? it seems light on grain in aroma and flavor for its color, but it does carry some sweetness. definite cinnamon, honey, and vanilla notes to this, a light almond or even amaretto thing, rich without being decadent or limiting really, and not overly flavored for what it is, still a beer first, which not all of these are. i think there is a light metallic aspect, the ferment isnt as clean as it could be, not sure how compelling this would be just as a plain cream ale, but the cinnamon is natural and adds a warmth to it, there is a little starchy body, and i like the vanilla note at the end, also very authentic. i do think it tastes like horchata, and thats impressive. its delicate in the right ways, but still sort of exotic enough to not really be a pounder for me, even if its not overly sugary or anything. love the warm cinnamon, the nuttiness, the low alcohol, and the aftertaste, and cream ale seems like the right base for these flavors. radio seems to be making strides, this is one of the more innovative beers ive had from them...

12oz can from Pilgrims Market. Golden pour with a small white foamy head. Aroma is vanilla and cinnamon. Taste follows with more of the same. Sweet and smooth.
