not bad, but also pretty understated and kind of thin, not rich and decadent, which i suppose can be seen as a good thing in that its not crazy sweet like a lot of these are, but its also just not as flavorful as i kind of hoped it would be, decent and drinkable but unremarkable too, a little of that powdered peanut butter thing, lacking the fatty oily goodness of real peanut butter, and seeming to defer more to the chocolate malt in here than an actual chocolate addition, however its made. hit shine, deep reddish brown but blacker in lower light, short tan head on it with some density and only a slow fade, looks pretty good, a bit lighter than anticipated. i get the dusty dry peanut butter, a dehydrated sort of thing, well integrated but also not the real thing, some dry cocoa, and nice middle malt support building a bridge between the two, raisin and fig sweetness, a hit of tobacco, and then some bitterness late, but this isnt particularly roasty as these go, a mid range to lighter porter overall. subtle coffee in the flavor, earthy from the peanut butter element, which really is there start to finish but stays kind of dusty to me. cocoa powder neither bitter nor sweet, light caramel, relatively quick to finish for a flavored beer, seems somewhat muted overall, not bad but also underwhelming. these guys make solid beers, i was hoping for a little more from this, but also appreciate it not being overdone and diabetic...

12oz can pours dark leathery brown with caramel highlights and a khaki head. Notes of chocolate and nutty roast meet the nose, with a good dose of peanut butter. The flavor profile is similar; sweet, peanut butter, chocolate, roast, caramel, nutty, earthy. Light body and light finish.

12oz can from Brewers Haven. Aroma is predominantly peanut butter. Taste has the peanut butter fading a bit, adding some chocolate notes and light roast. Feels thin and finishes fast.
