Pours a lovely, honey-colored hue with a loose, off-white skim that quickly dissipates into a tight band around the shoulders. Clarity is slightly hazy but not murky. Nose expresses notes of honey and melon. Taste is quite pleasant - notes of the barrel are light an unassuming - a kiss of wood, spirits, and honeysuckle. Flavor profile is very much reminiscent of a Belgian Tripel. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with a slight oiliness to the texture and a carbonation just shy of still. Overall, a lovely beer. Not enough brewers are making this classic style and the barrel adds nice complexity and nuance.
