Kulhuse 17/2 2024. 50 cl bottle brought home from Læsø by my in-laws. A bit too old. Black label with a small logo with the shape of the island. White letters with theme og beer and brewery and some recommendations about the beer.

Pours opaque dark brown with a small beige head. Bubbly. Disappears after 10 seconds. Leaving a cup of decarbonated Cola behind.

Aroma is moderately intense with a sugary sweet, malty odor with a touch of sweet spice. Brown sugar, toffee and vanilla. Heavy whiff of Tonka beans. Metallic alcohol.

Light carbonation. Thin, oily, soft, almost flat texture.

Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by a more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.

A rather docile beast.
