Roha Nights Out Belgian Stout, 8.7% ABV. Pours brownish-black with a one-finger light-brown head that left great lacing. Aroma is roast malt, chocolate malt, and a touch of vanilla. Taste is roast malt, light chocolate, no sweetness, no bourbon burn, moderate bitterness. Dry mouthfeel, overall excellent.

Pours to a nice deep brown with pencil thin head. Nice glass lacing. Nose is smokey char. Dry. Has a sweet malty chocolate taste. Finishes a bit harsh - steely. Interested mix of Belgian style with a stout. It doesn’t move me, just because the mix is a lot of noise to me.

12 ounce can, just warmer than fridge temp, poured into a snifter, in Salt Lake City, UT. Canned last week! Fine single finger of orangey brown foam over deep brown ale.
Aroma is chocolate malt, a touch of char, brown bread.
Taste is really nice; there’s a deft roast that delivers a fine malty chocolate front and a complimentary hop to boot. Now, I’m not sure about this ‘Belgian’ thing.,. can calls it ‘assertive’. It’s not.,. But, a good tasty brew!
Mouth is very medium, almost thin, and the low-medium carbonation suits it well.
Overall, a nice changeup from IPA, DIPA, Belgian Blondes, heavy Stout.

LOOK - really dark / black out of the 12oz can, very little head that dissipates far too quickly, no lacing, barely a few bubbles hanging on around the outside, basically goes flat after 30 seconds
SMELL - some alcohol apparent, slight chocolate, quite a bit of strong burnt wood and grains
TASTE - this is quite flavorful with strong chocolate notes, slight bittering from hops perhaps and a lot of bitterness from very dark roasted grains. Only slight Belgian notes and mostly a strong stout. This beer was listed here as a Belgian Dark (Dark Strong?), but it is not. This seems like just a decent stout that was fermented with some Belgian yeast mixed in with the typical stout yeast.
FEEL - a full bodied beer in regards to thickness, but since this one basically goes flat, it gets lower marks here
OVERALL - this is a well done beer other than it needed more carbonation. This would be better labelled as a stout (and nearly an Imperial Stout) as I don't know that there is many Belgian aspects in this beer.

12 oz can. Pours opaque dark brown with no head. Aroma is metal, coffee, alcohol, a little medicinal. Taste is better, coffee, sweet malt, a little booze in the finish. Not bad but a bit rough around the edges.

It looks incredible out of the glass. It's very dark and quite thick, with a robust amount of head that dissipates fairly quickly. On the nose, it's a straightforward mix of the banana and clove of a Belgian with the chocolatey malt of a stout. The taste profile fits that as well. Some people may really like this. If you like this style, you probably will, and although this doesn't seem like anything adventurous, I would hesitate to call this a BAD beer. I just don't think this style is for me. It's quite one note and exactly what you would expect - a dark, malty Belgian, with all of the notes of both. It's mixing two styles that I'm quite hit-or-miss on in a very simple manner, which is why I give it a comparatively low score.
Just not for me I think.
