Copenhagen 22/5 2021. 33 cl chubby bottle from Meny, Rotunden, Hellerup. Dark blue label in Kerel’s usual design with a lot of manually deleted text and the coy, ironic tag line: “Says it all”.
Pours unclear dark amber with a mid-sized off-white head. Settles as 1 cm thin layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, malty, lightly toasted scent mingling with tart, citric notes. Caramel, toffee. A bit of dark chocolate. Citrus and lime.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is rather dry.
Decent Black IPA which could use a little roasted charm.
