Poured black with a two finger tan frothy head. Minimal lacing. Nose of malt, caramel, bourbon and root beer. Toasted malt, caramel, molasses, dark fruit and a bit of bourbon and oak. This one is Buffalo Trace bourbon barrel aged in 2019. Original listing of 2017 does not mention this. A wonderful flavor and I think the best that I have had from Noble Stein. This is smooth and slightly thick with minimal carbonation. I believe the ABV is also higher . . . perhaps at 10%. Noble Stein is doing wonderful things with beer in Indiana, PA. I just got back from tasting beer at Brewery Bhavana in Raleigh, the brewery of which was rated as 4.1 on Beer Advocate. I believe that Noble Stein is right up there with Bhavana. Way to go Noble!

Update 4-28-20: Current sampling purchased via pickup at the brewery during this damn COVID-19 crap. Let me tell you . . . this small brewery in Indiana, PA is killin' it with Sweet Oak Stout. To add to my previous comments, there is a nice black licorice hint in the finish.
